I am thrilled that the National Osteoporosis Foundation has chosen to recognize me as a leading voice of positive and healthy aging with the “Generations of Strength” Award, which will be give to me at the NOF annual “A Gift From Mothers to Daughters” luncheon on September 24th.
If you can join us, please do. If you can’t, remember to do these few simple things every day to ensure that your bones will stay healthy and strong for as long as possible: eat foods high in calcium (especially dark, leafy greens like kale); take Vitamin D (at least 1,000); do some kind of strength training every day (push-ups are a terrific upper body exercise).
