Turning 50 is a tricky thing indeed. Life can change on a dime, with no warning. Grown kids might leave home, or come back! Maybe your aging parents–who might be needier than your kids right now–move in. Perhaps you’re thinking about retiring, or starting a whole new career. And we all know the statistics on people over 50 who get divorced.

All these changes can sometimes make us feel stuck in place, and keep us from moving forward with our lives. For sure, fear can play a big part in this, but very often it’s just not being sure of what your future should be.

Well, I’ve got news for you! We who are 50+ have many years ahead of us and the last thing we want to do is not enjoy every one of them! This is not the time to let people, things, obligations and other “clutter” keep us glued to the floor. Even if we welcome family members back to our homes, or get divorced, it doesn’t mean the experience should stop us from living our lives.
