Barbara Hannah Grufferman

Raised in New York, Barbara graduated from St. John’s University and attended New York University’s Graduate School of Social Anthropology.  She started a magazine for teenage girls, and served as the publisher of several well-known entertainment weeklies before she became an author, and a very inquisitive woman over 50.

Barbara is a Director on the board of RxCompassion, a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting compassionate patient care. An avid runner, knitter, and fan of all things made with peanut butter, she lives in Manhattan with her husband, Howard, their two daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, and a rescued dog.
