Is it Time to ‘DROP THE DATE?’

Saturday, April 12th, 2014

Too many women hang on to new relationships in the hope that the other person will change for the better.

But, that usually doesn’t happen. And this is really true if the person is in midlife and set in his ways.

Take a look at this short video in which I have a chat with Bobbi Palmer, founder of “Date Like a Grownup” about knowing when to drop the date . . . and when to hang on.

Enjoy!

The Best of Everything After 50 Makeup Tutorial!

Sunday, March 23rd, 2014

I love wearing makeup! But, I never wear a lot.

BOE_Lipstick_IntroAnd, as I’ve passed the 55+ mark . . . I find that the less I less I put on, the better I look.

It really comes down to using the right products in the right places, and just enough to look fresh, pretty and modern: lipstick, blush, plenty of moisturizer (with sunscreen) and a few more essentials . . . and you’re ready to rock.

Many women over 50 just give up on wearing makeup all together. Why? Usually because they keep going back to the same products they’ve been using for decades, and quite frankly, what worked when we were 30 may not work for us now.

But, here’s a quick overview of some of the best products specifically for women over 50 to make us look magnificent in minutes:

Until next time, remember this:

We can’t control getting older . . . but . . . we can control how we do it!

Get Out Your Go-Go Boots and Go See the Beatles (sort of!)

Monday, February 10th, 2014

Beatles First US Concert in DCMost people think the Beatles’ first U.S. concert was at Shea Stadium in New York City. But that momentous and memorable event didn’t happen until August 15th, 1965.

Here’s the real scoop: following the fab fours’ victorious stint on the Ed Sullivan Show (February 9th, 1964), the Beatles made their way to Washington DC and performed their very first U.S. concert at the historic Washington Coliseum/Uline Arena.

To commemorate the event, AARP is sponsoring a special tribute to the Beatles–“The Beatles: Yesterday and Today”–which will take place on the exact same day, time and even in the same place as it did 50 years ago! Proceeds will go to the DC Preservation League.

Get details about the program and buy tickets right here. All AARP members get a 15% discount by using this code when buying the tickets online: AARP.

It’s going to be a great big party with music, food, and memorabilia on display, including the iconic photos by Mike Mitchell taken during the 1964 concert.

I’ll be at the AARP booth welcoming everyone to the Best Beatle Bash in the world! Look for me!

Here’s a snippet of an interview I had on DC’s local CBS affiliate station–WUSA9–yakking it up about celebrating boomers, life after 50, and most of all, The Beatles!Barbara & Andrea Roane During Interview

See you there!!
