The Perfect Rosh Hashana Brisket

When I married my husband, who was raised Jewish, I knew that making the perfect brisket would be on my personal “to do” list.

My mother-in-law always made beautiful, delicious, meaningful High Holy Day (Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Passover) meals for the entire family, but in recent years it became too much for her to handle.

I decided to take it on.

This week we celebrate Rosh Hashana–the Jewish New Year–and once again I’m bringing out my “Barbara’s Brisket” recipe, putting on my apron, sharpening my knives, polishing my silver, and getting down to business. (more…)
