A Date with a Book

During the summer of 1972, when I was 15 and “Take It Easy” by the Eagles was blasting on the radio, I bought a book. And fell madly in love.

The day I finished the last page, closing my eyes, and wishing it had never ended, I gently tucked it into a special place in my drawer . . . and made a vow. (more…)

Pasta . . . Summer Style

My husband and I got married in Positano, Italy . . . way back in 1993.  We then spent a little time touring Tuscany, and discovered what has become our favorite city in all of Italy — Siena.  While there, we also discovered one of our favorite pasta dishes that is the perfect way to experience summer in Italy . . . without leaving your own backyard.  (more…)

A Taste of Summer

I first had this fantastically easy-to-prepare, healthy, beautiful-to-look-at, and simply yummy dish in Israel last year. Why it took me so long to discover, I don’t know. But now, it is a regular part of my life. Every spoonful is like a taste of summer . . . slightly sweet and tangy. (more…)
